Foundation for long-term tissue support
CAPROLON is a monofilament thread made of the copolymer lactid and ε-caprolacton. The breakdown to CO2 occurs in the tissue by the uptake of water during metabolism. The breakdown rate of CAPROLON is slowed down significantly by the special ratio of lactide to ε-caprolactone and the smaller surface area, the result of the monofilament structure.
Specific changes to the physical characteristics and the finishing of the surface with an absorbable coating (Resolacton) results in handling properties which are comparable in terms of flexibility and tensile behaviour to that of NYLON.

MOPYLEN 22.10.2009 MOPYLEN is a synthetic, non-absorbable thread that is manufactured by the polymerisation of Propylen.
MOPYLEN is hydrophobic, inert and non-thrombogenic. The market
SDB affects around 20% of the adult population¹, making it as widespread as diabetes or asthma. However, awareness is low and we believe that about 90% of people who have OSA remain undiagnosed and untreated. Along with an increasing understanding of the morbidity and mortality caused by SDB, this discrepancy has created one of the fastest growing segments of the respiratory industry. ResMed is positioned to meet the growing challenges of this under-penetrated market.

Increasing awareness
ResMed is committed to increasing education and awareness of the serious health consequences of untreated SDB among both the general public and physicians. Our extensive geographical coverage allows us to work progressively towards this awareness. We have established ResMed Foundations in both Australia and the United States and are funding a public relations program (together with other industry participants) in several countries to publicize the dangers of undiagnosed SDB.
Understanding SDB
The term “sleep-disordered breathing” (SDB) includes a spectrum of respiratory disorders ranging in severity from snoring to OSA. OSA occurs when the airway temporarily collapses during sleep, preventing or restricting breathing for up to ten seconds or more. Such events can occur several hundred times a night severely disrupting sleep.
Untreated OSA can severely affect quality of life, health and mortality. Clinical research shows that it is linked strongly to a range of serious, even life-threatening, chronic diseases such as stroke, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, obesity and coronary heart disease. Other links include preeclampsia in pregnant women, attention deficit disorder in children and increased traffic and workplace accidents.
Treatment
Widely accepted across the globe, positive airway pressure treatment is a highly effective, proven and popular way to treat OSA.
Involves wearing a mask or nasal pillows system connected to a small portable airflow generator that delivers air at positive pressure. The air pressure acts like an “air splint” to keep the airway open.
Continuing research and product development
We continue to invest approximately 6% of revenues in research and product development—that’s a growing dollar figure every year, demonstrating our commitment to continuing global leadership in sleep medicine based on our innovative technologies. ResMed’s team is focused on developing innovative therapies that increase patient comfort and convenience while improving health. As of December 2005 we had 582 patents and 401 design registrations, granted or pending worldwide.

The Regumed Success Story
It all began back in 1976 with Brügemann GmbH. After collaborating with Dr. Morell, in 1987 the BICOM device was born. In early 1996 the company was renamed Regumed GmbH.
The BICOM device signalled the start of an extremely successful expansion in this form of therapy, for which Mr. Brügemann introduced the term of BIORESONANCE THERAPY.
The main aim was and still is to help doctors and non-medical practitioners in the easing or indeed healsing of symptoms of illness without damaging side effects.
In 1981 founded the Institut für Regulative Medizin to help us achieve the above aims by offering in-depth training to practitioners. The Instituee now holds around 60 seminars every year, offering different levels of training.
Several million treatments have been successfully carried out and are proof of the effectiveness of the therapy. The successes enjoyed in allergy therapy in particular have increased awareness of bioresonance therapy as a reputable medical procedure in recent years.
Over 25 years` experience in this area means that the therapist now has at his disposal an extremely advanced, reliable device: the BICOM 2000.
Each year extensive research is carried out so that all therapiests may benefit further from our experiences.
As well as being represented in many countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, there are over 50 specialists working in Germany to make the device more user-friendly.

It is no coincidence that a modern day version of Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Man as the measure of all things” has a prominent position in the Bio-Racer logo. From the early beginnings of our company science has been used to the benefit of the cyclist and his equipment. And vice versa.
At the start of the 1980′s the sport of cycling tries to change its image of the plodding, lonely Flandrien, slaving away on his own. The computer and science make their entry into the peloton, mainly with an eye to medical supervision. The cyclist’s most important piece of equipment is still badly served by science. A shortcoming.
Raymond Vanstraelen is in agreement. In 1984 he decides to employ the experience which he gained as a cyclist and coach of top cyclists, his technical knowledge and that of others, to accomplish a mission: a new generation of cyclists provided with equipment and clothing which is literally made to measure. Bio-Racer, a contraction of “Biomechanics” and “Racer”, is born.
Their completely own vision with regard to the position on the bicycle – most cyclists adopted an incorrect posture – results in a unique but universal computerized measuring system: the Bio Racer Bike Fitting System. The concept immediately proves its worth as various top cyclists further enhanced their list of victories and that they partly attribute that to a newly worked out cycling posture. Nowadays the professional peloton can no longer be thought of without the Bio-Racer measuring system and it is the standard for the recreational cyclist.

Bio-Racer’s modern, scientific approach leaves a deep impression behind in the conservative cycling world. For the first time, but certainly not for the last. After the bicycle the young company focuses itself on the cyclist’s clothing, which until then offered little in the way of comfort. At first in collaboration with a Swiss textile manufacturer and later completely independent with its own range of clothes and silk-screen printing facility.
The use of Lycra, the first seamless chamois, the innovative cut of a cycling jersey. These are just a few of the innovations for which the cycling world will be thankful to Bio-Racer for years to come. Classics, World Cup races, world titles and Olympic honours. The list of prize winners that has been accumulated in our equipment is incredibly impressive. The position of market leader in the Benelux in the area of qualitative club attire is perhaps an even better award.
The garage where the success story began has in the meantime literally come apart at the seams. The first company premises were opened in 1989. Less than fifteen years later a second move to an ultramodern design and production workshop follows. Here we continue to carry out further pioneering work, develop new products and opportunities, based on sound scientific research. And in the future the cyclist and his comfort will still play a central role.

The following applies to all types of ReSkin® products:
• Apply ReSkin® directly to the skin wherever rubbing causes problems. Apply ReSkin® to clean dry skin. Cut the ReSkin® to the correct size to get agood adhesive bond between the skin and the product. ReSkin® willimmediately relieve pain in areas where rubbed skin is a problem.
