Step-by-step provision of medical supplies to schools

JOHOR BARU: Schools in Johor will be provided with medical supplies, such as masks, thermometers and sanitisers in stages, said Johor Education Department director Sufaat Tumin.

He said there were about 600,000 primary and secondary students in Johor, and the state would first distribute medical supplies to schools identified in the high-risk category.

“We are distributing the medical supplies and priority will be given to schools reported to have students with the influenza A (H1N1).

“We do not have medical supplies for every student but will ensure that masks are provided first to those suffering from flu and fever,” he said, adding that allocations for the supplies totalled RM216,000.

He said the two schools closed due to the influenza, SM Teknik Perdagangan and SMK Johor Jaya, had since reopened.
